Riots

About 300 young black men are killed each year by police or security guards, most of these in the commission of a crime. About 2 or 3 times a year a young black man is killed by an officer who was prejudiced and overreacted and should never have been an officer. When this happens it is a national story and often leads to riots, looting and destruction of property. There are 12,000 homicides each year and 6,000 of them are blacks and 95% of those are killed by other blacks but none of these results in a national news story. Are these 500 young men killed each month somehow of less value? Are their families not just as saddened? Each of these was some mother’s child. Maybe some of these parents should riot and demand that something be done.
