Asylum

As if the immigration rules are not messed up enough a federal judge has ruled that it is illegal to stop people from illegally entering the country. The interesting part is that most experts agree that the judge is right. It is up to congress to stop this illegal entry but they seem to be unable to agree on how to do it. The 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act states that any foreigner who arrives in the USA, "whether or not at a designated port of arrival," may apply for asylum. Congress made this law and it is up to them to change it, if they want to. Meanwhile thousands or even millions could stream across the border and they could all then apply for asylum.
