New jobs

As the reindustrializing of America continues, it will require an updated understanding of what is meant by a manufacturing job. The modern facility requires people to work in clean and pleasant surroundings, punching buttons on a panel board. This requires on the job training and hiring people right out of high school. Because productivity will be higher wages can be higher. Higher wages can be offset by lower transportation cost by producing closer to home. This also shortens supply chains and prevents foreign companies from using products as bargaining chips. Modern companies must be able to adjust quickly to markets and making products at home makes that easier. The old-style assembly jobs, where people stood all day doing repetitive actions are no longer the case but young people must be made aware of these changes. The plants will be staffed with engineers and technicians and the pay will be adjusted accordingly. In 1950 35% of private jobs were in manufacturing and today that has dropped to 8%. Many of these jobs were sent overseas and they are now coming back.
