Natural gas

Climate change is once again in the news only because of its political implications and not because of its air pollution. The world will show it is serious about global warming when they start to move toward natural gas for transportation. Past presidents have said the goal is to look at all sources of energy but the emphasis has been on electric cars. Using solar panels and wind for homes and places of business is a good start but batteries are still in the future. Changing power plants over to natural gas has been and will continue to be a winner. Running cars, semi-trucks, locomotives and 747's on batteries is not the way to go. Changing over to natural gas is the way. It offers an almost immediate reduction of CO2, acid rain and heavy metal contaminates like mercury and lead. If the world would just switch to natural gas for power and transportation the problem would be solved for the next generation and technology will have a chance to take care of the future.
