Opposition

In this country we basically have a two party system and the out party is called the loyal opposition. It is necessary to have two strong parties to keep a balance of power. The government cannot be trusted and must be restrained when ever possible. The out of power party, in the current case the democrats, must use what ever influence it has to keep the republicans from gaining too much power however they must fight their battles on matters of policy. Sometimes both can agree on policy such as when Biden passed the infrastructure bill. Currently the democrats are objecting for the sake of objecting and this is a mistake. When Trump wants to seal the border and they object it can be misunderstood to make people believe that democrats don't want to close the border. When they object to Trump wanting to trim government it can be construed to mean they are for waste in government. They object to Trumps position on Ukraine which opens them up to criticism that they want the war to continue. There are policies where democrats can differ with Trump. They prefer higher taxes on the rich. They want to use that tax money to broaden the safety net. They can trumpet the infrastructure bill. They can ask that corporations pay more taxes.
