EU
Since the end of WW 2 the US has protected Europe and Canada from the Soviet Union and then Russia. Last year the European Union (EU) spent $400 billion on defense with a population of 450 million while the US spent $900 billion with a population of 330 million. Over the years these countries have pointed out that they have universal care and the US does not. There are 32 countries in NATO and the US finances 16% of the budget but more importantly 38% of the troops. The US is demanding that the EU start paying for their own defense and our allies are not happy. In addition, the UN is comprised of 193 countries and the US finances 22% of the budget and that is about to change. The US is facing a $37 trillion dollar debt and can no longer take care of the EU.
