NRC

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) was created as an independent agency by Congress in 1974 to ensure the safe use of radioactive materials for beneficial civilian purposes while protecting people and the environment.  As a member of this group you will approach the construction of a new facility with a safety first mindset. This means, to many, using the what if scenario. What if this happens or what if that happens and these questions lead to more questions and in time nothing gets built and you are safe because you are not criticized if nothing gets built only if an accident occurs. This agency needs a new purpose which includes the development of nuclear power which is not only safe but active.
