Young people
The US birth rate has been dropping since 2007 which means that there are problems on the horizon. One bright side is that the teen birth rate has halved. Young people are not only the worker bees but they are also the consumers and since the US is a consumer driven economy these youngsters are needed for growth. This exemplifies the need for immigrants. The more educated immigrants come through the legal system and mostly from Asia. The lesser educated come from South America across the southern border illegally. Another way to offset this loss in younger people is to encourage more children. Both presidential candidates have pledged to increase the child tax credit which would be one way to help young families. The schools in most states now provide free meals which also helps young families but the best incentive is for young people to have good paying jobs which is coming with the rebuilding of the industrial base. There are good times ahead for young people.
