gas price

I feel that President Obama sincerely believes that going green is the future and I agree but he wants to do it faster than I think is appropriate. I feel that his desire to promote new energy sources will hurt his chances at re-election. He has stated in the past that he would like to see gas prices rise but only gradually. His thinking is that higher prices will cause people to look to other forms of transportation and again I agree. As the economy improves the price of gas will rise and by next summer will be above $4. I don’t believe that the President understands the way the average person looks at the economy. While things like unemployment, deficits and debt may be of concern, nothing gets people excited like the gas price. Those other things are just statistics but on every corner there is a gas station with a large sign showing the price of gas. Every week consumers have to buy gas and they see the price. You can ask an average driver what the price of gas is and he will tell you. People understand supply and demand and they will see that the President refused to drill in the Gulf and is holding up oil from Canada and they will be angry and angry people tend to vote their feelings.
