Civil war virus

Lincoln famously said, a county divided cannot stand, and he was referring to the civil war. In the end the country came together thanks to his leadership. The 2016 election once again divided the country and we are in another crisis. The bitterness between sides borders on madness with once again brother against brother. This time there will be no killing, hopefully, but the animosity is bewildering to someone who is not caught up in it. Emotion has replaced thinking and neither side can hear the other. Perhaps this virus will bring back common sense and allow people to once again see the necessity to come together.
