Federal unemployment

Under the new relaxed rules about qualifying for unemployment compensation almost everyone who loses a job is eligible. This is a real boon for middle to low income workers who will receive both state and federal benefits for at least four months. In Minnesota anyone who earns up to $60,000 per year will have more take home pay than they had while working. That will end if the feds do not extend the benefit beyond the four months. If the jobs open up and employees refuse to return to work the employer may question holding their job open until the four month period is over. They may look for replacement workers.
