Unprepared

There are daily discussions about the US preparedness for the coronavirus and they center around the type of viruses that have occurred in the past. This virus is more virile than recent viruses. States like California are constantly upgrading their preparedness for earth quakes and over the years serious earthquakes have varied from 5.5 to 7.5. So if a quake of 9.2 happened tomorrow they would not be ready and the damage would be much greater because they were not prepared. A country cannot afford to prepare for every possibility so they usually get caught off guard when the unexpected happens, things like a 1,000 year flood.
