Delegation

Many people marvel at Trump’s unending energy and his ability to talk openly about a multitude of issues. The phase often heard is when does he sleep. Trump is a business man and operates as such. In a corporation the president sets the policy and all the vice-presidents carry out the policy. If they disagree with the policy, they may express their disagreements in private and if they cannot be resolved, they resign. Trump sees cabinet members as vice-presidents and demands they follow the policies that he lays out. Since he has trusted allies in the cabinet, he is comfortable in delegating responsibility to them on important issues. He then watches carefully and steps in when anyone deviates from his policy. As president he reports to the voters just as a company president reports to the stockholders. In Trump’s case he is not concerned with reelection so his main interest is leaving the country in better shape than he found it. How he does this should be challenged by the press.
