In the news today the European Countries have agreed to increase their defense spending which means they will not have to rely on the US for their protection. In 2023 with a population similar to that of the US they spent $280 billion on defense while the US spent $750 billion. At this point it is only talk but if this comes to fruition it can mean substantial saving for the US.
