War

As the people read the reports concerning the Ukraine War, it is time to review the way the government reported on the Vietnam War. In 1971 the Pentagon Papers, a classified study of decision-making about Vietnam, were leaked and published. The explosive Papers showed that the US government had systematically lied about the reality that the US was losing the war. Even after this exposure, it still took four years to end the war. The power of the military industrial complex refused to end the gravy train of profits trading the lives of American soldiers to produce more weapons. Some suggest that the same groups are sacrificing the lives of Russian and Ukrainian soldiers. Just as happened in the Vietnam war, the American people are slowly tiring and in time will turn against the war. In the meantime, many more soldiers will die. It took 20 years to admit that Afghanistan was a mistake.
