Iran decision
Because Trump is president, the news is focusing on his decisions about Iran but both parties are concerned.
While many Democrats quickly condemned conservative Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for launching Israel’s assault on Thursday night, many others hailed the decision as a necessary step to put a halt to Tehran’s nuclear expansion.
The majority of both parties agree that Iran should not have a nuclear weapon and that there should be a diplomatic resolution to the problem. Neither of these positions requires any courage. Almost everyone agrees in any situation that a peaceful settlement is better than war. The latest push against war is that congress must decide. This means no decision will be made as 535 people with different opinions hash it out. This is the easy way out for Trump. He can let congress decide. Most will quietly wait for Trump to take action and then Monday morning quarterback the results. As Truman said, the buck stops here.
