Trust

Polls show a steady decline in the public trust in the media. In 1972 the trust was at 72% but this was followed by downward slide. By 1997 it had fallen to 53% and in 2016 it was 32%. When Trump came on the scene the drop in trust continued. This mistrust is not limited to politics as most institutions, other than the military, are suffering from the same mistrust. Trust in government has dropped from 75% in 1960 to 25% in 2015. This has people concentrating on what is wrong with America and if you look you can find plenty. If you go a step further and compare the US with other countries things look much better and that is why so many around the world would like to move here.
