Abortions
Here is a report from Google AI.
Since the overturn of Roe v. Wade, total abortions in the U.S. have increased, reaching a record high of over 1.1 million in 2024, driven by factors like the rise of medication abortion via telehealth and travel to states where it's legal. While many states have banned or restricted abortion, the overall number of procedures has gone up, with some increase seen even in states with bans.
Medication abortions were at 10% in 2000 and 63% today. This trend is expected to continue. The number of abortions had been declining with a low of 862,000 in 2017 but then started up and continued up after Roe was overturned in 2022. Black women at 40% continue to be the most based on race.
