Wood burning

Here is a headline from a climate magazine on Sept 22, 2025 Leaders promised to cut climate pollution, then doubled down on fossil fuels. Many predicted this as the Paris Climate Agreement in 2015 was seen as a farce. It was a lot of feel-good speeches with no enforcement. Most now understand that if these countries had followed up on their promises the world would be in a depression. Wind and solar cannot replace fossil fuels. Only nuclear can do that but nuclear does not offer the new social programs that come from wind and solar. Climate was the excuse to introduce new ways to redistribute wealth from rich western countries to poor underdeveloped countries. It was a laudable goal but misleading. The West must help countries develop nuclear energy programs. A vast portion of the world’s population, about two billion people, depend on wood for heating and cooking. The reliance on open fires and inefficient stoves, fueled by wood, contributes to millions of premature deaths from smoke inhalation, according to the WHO.
