IMO
The part of the United Nations that deals with shipping is called The International Maritime Organization (IMO). New rules have recently introduced that will achieve zero carbon by 2050. Much of it has to do with carbon transfer where companies pay other companies for carbon credits. Another approach is to use fuels like methanol or other bio fuels. For more than 60 years the US has been using nuclear to power aircraft carriers and sub marines but this is not mentioned in their proposals. Instead, they say to use clean energy when docking and wind sails when possible.
