Families

I listened to Erika Kirk, the wife of fallen Charlie Kirk, speak and was impressed with their emphasis on the value of the family. Many Black writers, like Mary Wright Edelman founder of the Children’s Defense Fund and heroin of Hillary Clinton, said the two things that held families together in the post-civil war era were the family and the church. John Wooden, the famous coach of the UCLA basketball team, recognizing that most of his players were inner city Black kids, also emphasized the importance of families, when he said the most important thing a man can do for his children is to love their mother. Since the passing of the civil rights laws in the 1965, the Black family has been destroyed. The number of out of wedlock births increased from 25% to 70% and this led to poverty for most. Black females in the child bearing years represent 4% of the population and they have 40% of the abortions. Black married couples with children have an average income of $94,500 while Black single mothers’ average income is $34,500. Black boys from single mom families have the lowest test scores, the highest dropout rates, the most discipline problems in school and the highest incarceration rates. This is from Google AI The family is the bedrock of society means that the family unit serves as the fundamental foundation upon which society is built. It is the basic unit where individuals first learn values, socialization, love and cooperation, shaping future citizens and the overall health of the community. A strong family system is seen as essential for a stable, harmonious, functional society. It appears once again that Black lives don’t matter.
