Bias in the senate

There are eight sitting senators who were or are running for president and they will sit in judgment of Trump during the impeachment trial. While these senators have a right to disagree with Trump on policy issues they have gone further by making derogatory remarks about Trumps behavior indicating a strong dislike for him on a personal basis. This makes it extremely difficult for them to judge in an impartial manner and under normal court proceedings they would be disqualified as jurors. Remarks like he is a racist and a bigot and is wholly unfit to be president can be reasons to predict bias
