Income tax

Every once in a while some Libertarian will come up with the idea of getting rid of the income tax but they are always frustrated when they find out it would take a constitutional amendment. The 16th amendment enacted in 1913 legalized income tax. If they just dug a little deeper they would have discovered an easy way to get around that. Turns out that in 1943 congress authorized the use of payroll deduction for tax collection. What congress can do, congress can undo. If people were required to come up with all the tax they owe for the year in April there would be such an outcry that the 16th would go the way prohibition.
