Muslims and the Koran

The Muslim world flourished during the 8th to 13th centuries but then started to decline. One of the main reasons was the belief that all knowledge could be found in the Koran. This became a disincentive to learning and is destructive to creative thinking. While the Western world went though the industrial revolution the Muslim world held tight to the Koran. The Jews on the other hand opened their eyes to science and engineering and moved into the modern world. It is spectacularly enlightening to know that the Jews with a world wide population of 15 million have earned (204 prizes) 23% of all Nobel Prizes in chemistry, physics, medicine and economics while the Muslims with a population of 1.8 billion have won three. Even the Muslim countries of today are only modernized because British and American engineers have developed the oil industry. This lack of technology has caused the Muslin nations to lose five wars against the Jews since 1948 and is a source of humiliation which fuels their anger.
