Flaring

As Europeans watch the price of natural gas rise to ten times what it was last year the Russians, at the pumping station near the Finnish border where the Nordsteam 1 pipeline begins, are burning off $10 million dollars a day of natural gas by flaring. Putin is sending a message to Europe that if you want to continue to sanction Russia you will pay through higher natural gas prices. He has no concern about the environmental problems this flaring may cause and this is mindful of Saddam when he left Kuwait and set fire to all the oil wells.
