Bail
The argument for no bail is that bail adversely effects poor people but that changes when it come to murder cases. In these cases, bail is sometimes set at a very high amount but that does not preclude rich people from getting out on bail. In one well known case OJ Simpson was given bail. The old argument against those with lesser means, is that they could not afford to leave the country but that is not the case with the rich.
Several high-profile cases demonstrate how wealthy individuals have received bail despite serious charges. Examples include Bernard Madoff, who posted a $10 million bail while awaiting trial for his Ponzi scheme. Similarly, Robert Durst, a real estate heir, had a bail of $3 billion set after his arrest for murder. Other notable examples include Michael Milken, who received a $250 million bail for securities fraud.
These people were given bail even though they had the means to leave the country. In fact, Robert Durst did just that although he was later captured and sent to prison.
