Fed chair
Members of the federal reserve are nominated by the president and approved by the senate and serve for 14 years. The fed chair is appointed by the president and serves a four-year term and can serve another four-year term. Current law does not give the president or congress the authority to dismiss a chairman before the end of a term. There is a loop hole in the law in that the president can remove a fed member, including the chair, for cause. One definition of cause is in cases of neglect or malfeasance. The Supreme Court would decide what these terms mean.
