The Trump administration is fast tracking the approval of new gas fired power plants for companies to build turbines next to their operations, to take pressure off the grid. Fifty new units have been approved so far with more on the way. These plants include the newest technology for both the power source and the latest turbines. These new facilities will produce more electric power at lower cost and lower carbon emissions. These are in addition to the small nuclear reactors being developed by the major social media companies. If the US is to double its industrial base this extra electric power is a necessity.
