Wind mil blades

All of the nuclear waste that has been created since the start of the nuclear age can be buried in a football field 30 feet deep. A football field is 1.4 acres. Wind mill blades are not biodegradable but are buried anyway. In one location near Sweetwater TX there is a 30-acre site where 5,000 blades are stored. That is 6 times the space needed for storage of all the nuclear waste. While a precise number of stored wind turbine blades is difficult to pinpoint, studies estimate that between 3,000 and 9,000 blades are decommissioned annually in the US, with this number potentially increasing to 10,000-20,000 per year by 2040. The average weight of a wind mill blade is 10,000 pounds It's difficult to give an exact number of discarded wind turbine blades currently in the world, but estimates project a significant amount of blade waste by 2050, potentially reaching 43 million metric tons. That would be 860,000 blades taking up 5,000 acres of land for storage.
