There is a new kind of prejudice raising its ugly head in the world. It’s based on the old concept of colonialism where rich and powerful countries took advantage of poor countries. This new type of racism is called the oppressors vs the oppressed. The current example is in Gaza. Even though the people of the Middle East and North Africa are considered Caucasians, those living in Israel are generally lighter skinned than those living in Palestine although there are many exceptions. This then lends itself to the idea that White people are oppressing Brown people. This dispute started in 1948 when Israel was declared a state and it reignited the 1,300-year-old battle between the Jews and Muslims. The religious battled changed to a political battle and now has taken on racist tones. It will take a herculean effort to bring about the long sought two state solution. The latest idea to get the rich oil countries to rebuild Palestine is the focus of the newest approach.
