Nuke power

The Infrastructure Bill, passed under Biden, authorized $1.2 trillion in spending with $550 billion for new investments. Halfway through the five-year plan about 38% of the money has been spent. Over the years, a lot of criticism of National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) has been that it’s unnecessarily burdensome and slows down projects, especially energy development. This has been and still is one of the main reasons why nuclear power has been in decline. These problems which include arbitrary standards, politicized enforcement and protracted litigation have stymied nuclear power development. There are 80 anti-nuclear groups active in the US and they still hold sway over the government. These government regs have been so restrictive that several large companies are planning to develop nuclear power stations using private funds. Their concern is not environmental but their need for power to operate their data centers.
