Oppressors

There is a risk involved in following the idea of oppressors and oppressed. A good example is the situation in Gaza. Good hearted people in the US saw the Israelis as the oppressors and the Palestinians as the oppressed. The Israelis stole their land and kept them prisoners in Gaza. The good people were the good guys. They were compassionate and concerned. Then Oct 7 came and the oppressed attacked the oppressors. Now what. This action must either be justified or the whole idea of oppressor and oppressed must be reevaluated. This is not an easy transition as witnessed by the problem at the US southern border. At the beginning it was compassion and concern that allowed suffering people to enter the country but in time the problems with taking care of these people got too costly. The schools and medical facilities were over crowded, fentanyl deaths were rising, women and girls were being attacked, children ended up missing, criminals were released within the country and the cartels were making billions. Now the compassionate people are faced with the possibility that their approach caused more problems than it solved. Can they reevaluate their position or do they double down?
