Private schools

Many people who object to Charter Schools do so because they do not want government money going to Catholic schools. Recent news reports have revealed that Columbia University in New York is a private school that receives federal money. Federal funding accounted for about $1.3 billion of the university's $6.6 billion in operating revenue in the 2024 fiscal year, according to a Columbia financial report In addition, Columbia University is a private school with $13 billion dollar endowment and charges $69,000 per year tuition. Also, all eight Ivy league schools are private, have large endowments, charge high tuitions and get government funding. The Ivy League schools are Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, the University of Pennsylvania, and Yale.
