3.5 or 2

The controversy surrounding the $3.5 trillion dollar spending bill is reaching a compromise at some lesser amount currently pegged at $2 trillion. The original game was to have lots of benefits in the plan and then ask the republicans what they want to cut. This has backfired and now the democrats will have to decide what to cut. The other option is to fund the full plan and sunset the benefits after five years and then vote to continue the programs or end them. It is not likely that any politician will vote to end a program that has been in force for five years. Once the government starts a public assistance plan it is very difficult to stop it.
