Gas prices

The average cost of home heating with natural gas in $575 per year and this year the price is expected to rise to $825 or about $20 per month. The average person uses 625 gallons of gasoline per year and if the price is one dollar higher this is over $50 per month and this is what people will notice. President Biden says he does not have a near term answer to the rise in gasoline prices. US oil production fell by 8% in 2020, the largest decrease on record. There may be multiple reasons why gas is up but supply and demand must have something to do with the price. Perhaps closing down federal lands to drilling caused a decrease in supply.
