Food desert

The words food desert refers to some inner city areas where it is difficult to find a grocery store. Something similar is happening in regards to drug stores. In liberal cities like San Francisco laws consider theft up to $995 as a misdemeanor. This has emboldened thieves to steal up to that amount without fear of punishment. In response to this Walgreen's has closed 22 stores and these are located in poor neighborhoods so now the same areas that lack grocery stores lack pharmacies. Thieves actually go into a store with calculators and add up what they steal to make sure they don't go over the $995. They just shop lift and walk out.
