Assange

Julian Assange was a reporter who developed a website called WikiLeaks in 2016. It was intended to collect and share confidential information from governments around the world. He was very effective and was named Time Magazine's Man of the Year in 2010. In that same year WikiLeaks published information received from a whistle blower Chelsea Manning an Army intelligence analyst who had access to the Pentagon computer. Manning provided thousands of military and diplomatic records about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Manning was arrested and charged and sent to prison. Assange was indicted and charged under the Espionage Act. Assange was given asylum in England and while there the CIA spied on him and violated his privacy and attorney client privilege. This case is a challenge to free speech. If reporters are not allowed to publish information they received from a source the press is useless. Assange also published information from Hillary Clinton's private email and from the DNC. The country needs more people like Assange. The government cannot be trusted. They have been caught in lies many times over the years.
