Reshoring

During the last half of the 20th century the democrats claimed that they were the champions of the working people and at the same time they pushed the ideas of world government organizations like the UN and International Court. The democrats joined forces with the republicans to extol the values of free world trade. They took credit for bringing a billion people out of poverty and the press went along with them. All the while this was happening the working people in the Europe and the United States were watching their good jobs disappear. The Midwest became the rust belt and industries move out of the country. The jobs that paid a living wage and provided benefits morphed into low paying jobs without benefits but the political leaders maintained they were the advocates for the working people. During those years the wealth gap between the rich and the working people widened and the rich and powerful are even today fighting against making any changes to the system.
