Minors

When unaccompanied minors cross the border they are held in special places. One such place was an abandoned Walmart Store in Texas. There were 300 employees there who transferred children to their sponsors. These are run by NGO's non governmental organizations who receive funding from the federal government. NGO employees accompany these children usually by air to various locations throughout the country. When the employee arrives with the children they are to meet the sponsors at the airport and hand over the children. It is reported that undesirables hire Mexicans to pick up the children and return the children to them. After that there is little follow up on what happens. It is a situation ripe for child trafficking. In the past few years there averaged 130,000 unaccompanied minors each year.
