Midterms

At this point it appears that the big issue for the upcoming midterm elections will be the prices of consumer goods. These will be determined by two competing factors. On one side holding prices steady, will be lower energy and transportation cost. Added to that will be the increase in productivity from new factories using AI. On the other side will be the higher labor cost by using American workers instead of cheap foreign workers. This could also mean wage/price inflation. If prices are higher than wages, it will be an issue but there will be no solution to the problem, unless it would involve sending manufacturing back overseas and end up making the same mistake that was made in the 1980’s. It will be an issue without a plausible solution but in issue in any event. Other factors that could have an influence on voters’ decisions would be things like the Ukraine War and the border.
