Waste

The current disagreement between the democrats and Musk is a tale of two cities. The democrats are correct in their legal interpretation of what Musk is doing but they are losing the battle of public opinion. When people see waste and fraud, they don’t care about the legal approach to correct things, they just see waste. The normal way to deal with waste is to go through congress where they will set up a committee to study the issue and a year later it will be lost in the bureaucracy and in time forgotten. That is why every president for 50 years has promised to get rid of the fat but none have succeeded. The only reason this time has a chance is Trump is using someone outside of government. The same thing would be necessary in private business. They would hire an outside consultant to come in and evaluate. This outsider would identify problem areas but it would be up to the company to follow up with the recommended changes.
