As Trump begins his battle to investigate the various parts of government in an attempt to get rid of waste, fraud and abuse the establishment is rebelling and his chances of making any lasting changes are slim to none. This is based on the 1984 election promise to get rid of the departments of Energy and Education. Reagan won 49 states with 525 electoral votes and a popular vote of 54,455,472 vs 37,577,352. His 525 electoral votes were the largest in history but he could not budge the status quo and the Energy and Education are still around contrary to what the people wanted.
