Rare earths

The US has large deposits of rare earths but people are not ready for the mining and processing these elements because of environmental concerns. In early 2024, American Rare Earths announce a rare earth deposit at Halleck Creek in Wyoming that could be the world’s richest. Thus, it was welcome news for the environmental groups when CNN reported today that Ukraine had agreed to a $500 billion share of their rare earths and other minerals in exchange for the aid the US had already provided. This will be a return on the billions that the US has sent to Ukraine in their war against Russia. This means that the mining and processing of these valuable elements will be done in Ukraine.
