While Americans demand clean air and water and safe working conditions, many of these same Americans demand cheap products imported from China. Even things like oil from countries around the world are dirty compared to what the US produces. One of the best ways to clean up the environment is for the US to export more goods including oil. In China: Air pollution is responsible for about 2 million deaths in China per year. Of those deaths, ambient air pollution alone caused more than 1 million deaths. China's water pollution is a serious issue that affects the health of millions of people. The pollution is caused by a combination of factors, including industrialization, urbanization, and inadequate infrastructure.
